Why won't the engine start when the key is turned?
1) Confirm the PTO lever is in the neutral position.
2) For our customer's safety and anti-theft, we install a safety switch in all of our tractors. Push the clutch pedal firmly when you
start the engine and confirm whether the Forward/Reverse lever is in the neutral position.
3) Check the main fuse and replace if necessary.
4) Check the battery and terminals.
5) Check key switch and starter motor. Contact local Branson Dealer.
Why do I do if starter is operating but the engine won't start?
1) Check fuel level in tank and bleed air from fuel lines after refueling.
2) Check if there is smoke coming out from the engine's muffler. Preheat the engine for about 5 seconds by turning the key to the left, then start the engine.
3) Check the fuel hoses for leaks and contact local Branson Dealer.
What if engine rotation is irregular?
1) Check for water inside of the fuel system. If excessive amounts of water are discovered within the fuel system, drain and refill with clean fuel.
2) Always follow EPA guidelines when disposing of contaminated fuel.
3) Check air in the fuel filter. Remove the air by loosening the bolts on the filters and plunger of the engine. After bolts are loosened, run the engine for 5 to 10 seconds. Tighten bolts back when fuel is seen leaking from filter.
4) Check the fuel hoses for leaks and contact local Branson Dealer.
5) Check for excessive noise and white colored smoke coming from the engine and exhaust.
6) If problem persists contact local Branson Dealer.
What do I do if my engine is overheating?
1) Check water level in radiator. Add coolant and water if necessary.
2) Check radiator for blockage or clog. Blow out or clean radiator with compressed air if possible.
3) Check engine oil level. The engine will consume or use a small amount of oil during normal operation. Frequently check oil level and add oil as necessary.
4) Check fan belt between engine and radiator. If the tension of the fan belt is loose, the fan cannot cool the engine effectively. Try adjusting the tension per your Operator¡¯s manual.
5) If problem persists contact local Branson Dealer.
What can I do if the engine is losing power?
1) Check the air filter. If the air filter is clogged or dirty, air cannot pass freely into the engine. Replace or clean the air filter.
2) Check the fuel quality. Remove and replace old fuel.
3) Check fuel hoses.
4) Check fuel filter.
5) If problem persists contact local Branson Dealer.
